Pumpkin carving

So Halloween is really close, and we decided to get some pumpkin carving done to get in the mood.  I love Halloween, just another holiday to get creative! :)  We had 2 regular pumpkins, and decided to get a small one for our daughter to try to cut, more like us cutting it for her... but it was way too hard, and we couldn't even get a knife to cut through it.  But we still carved our bigger pumpkins, and had our daughter pick her favorite.  I think the voting was rigged, because she picked her daddy's pumpkin.  LOL... None the less, we had a great time!  Well here is what they looked like all lit up.  Mine was on the left, and my hubby's was on the right.

My first love...

My first love was baking, well before I wanted to be an astronaut, a cop, and all the other crazy ideas I had when I was little.  I love to bake!  I always wanted to open my own bakery/restaurant type deal.  It was my dream for a long time.  Then came the Navy... I was a cook in the Navy, and I enjoyed it for a while, but that is where I learned I didn't want to cook or bake for my occupation.  I didn't mind waking up extra early to prep food for hungry customers.  I do mind taking all that time away from my family to do so.  It takes a lot of time, and most of your life to devote it to cooking or baking.  Everyone wakes up in the morning and wants a muffin, or a bagel... well you have to be up extra early to make it for them nice and fresh.  So I decided baking would still be my love, but its my love I do for my hobby.  Here are some cookies I baked today....
